Therefore, any complains regarding the sound cannot be the reason for exchange and refund. The pitch and vibration of the cling sound vary from each product neither of which can be considered as good nor bad. Lighter has been created as a tool to light the fire which has nothing to do with its quality and sound. While Dupont Lighters are processed through handworks, there might be scratches on the metal work and lacquer products which cannot be the reason for exchange and refund. Exchanges and refunds will not be processed with any defects made by the customer’s careless actions or after striking a lighter due to the nature of the product. - We recommend you to use the original refills of S.T.DUPONT (Gases and stones can be purchased at Boutique) -Any defects made by the customer’s careless actions will still be charged even during the warranty period. If the letter of warranty is not being submitted, there will be extra charges on the repair as well. - The screw from the attached pin in the cover might be loose due to the pressure and vibration while opening and closing it. -When opening the cover, try to open it parallel from the side to body in order to balance the pressure on the connecting pins. Opening the cover by edge may damage the connecting pin due to the one-sided wear or deformation of the cover. S.T.DUPONT Lighter is a plated ware which may have discoloration or exfoliation. Especially for silvers, it needs a careful management (Ex. Cleaning) while it has a property to turn dark when friction occurs with oxygen. Lacquered products are fragile to a strong pressure. Repairs regarding the surface damage of the Lighter such as Lacquer breakages, discolorations, and scratches will not be processed. “Reasons for Failures of Turning the Lighter” -Absence of gas/ Abrasion of Print Wheel (Flint)/ Reversed insert/ Breakage of Gas Inlet - Using an unauthentic gas than its original refill. - There might be an extra charge for the repair due to the internal breakdowns such as clogged nozzles.
